Aircraft Maintenance Engineering The Right Way for your Future

Aircraft maintenance engineering, as the name suggests, this is a course that gives knowledge, data and skills needed for carrying out Aircraft maintenance. The course involves theory also as plenty of sensible exposure within the sort of apprenticeships, workshops etc. AME isn’t only a profitable career possibility however is additionally in nice demand everywhere the globe because it may be extremely skill-based role. However, the courses and the requirements for getting a license to apply the profession vary by country.

Aircraft maintenance engineers could focus on power systems, airframe, electrical systems or any of the electronic systems. Under the Supervision of an aeronautical Flight engineer they perform a whole scrutiny of the craft before its take off. They work as line maintenance mechanics or as overhaul mechanics.

Line maintenance mechanics work on all components of the Aircraft. At the airports throughout turnarounds they create necessary emergency and different needed repairs. Overhaul mechanics perform routine maintenance when an Aircraft has completed the desired range of flying hours. Aircraft frame mechanics are in-charge of overhauling the Airframe and Aircraft power mechanics work on the engine.

Though the Aircraft maintenance engineering is simply another branch of engineering, however it’s a awfully new field, and people who are anxious concerning Aircraft engineering will pursue their career and build their future adventurous.

Aircraft maintenance engineering salary

AME specialists are in demand worldwide and usually get an attractive salary package which slightly changes in different countries. An Aircraft maintenance engineer is liable for making certain Associate in Aircraft operates properly and safely. A maintenance engineer might create repairs, troubleshoot issues, conduct inspections and create upgrades to aircrafts. Daily duties might include keeping records of and playacting upkeep, making emergency repairs, or making ready for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspections.

There are various options in Aircraft Maintenance engineering. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program trains learners to keep up, repair, and overhaul Aircraft to verify that Aircraft meet Transport customary of safety and performance. Career Options in aircraft maintenance engineering (AME) in India

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is the international course regulated by Govt of India. DGCA is regulatory under Ministry of civil aviation

India is the fastest growing aviation market in the world. We are the third largest market in the world and going to be largest by 2030. We have 25% average growth in air traffic, to maintain these incredible growth Indian required min 2000 new aircrafts and hundreds of new airports. India has approx 480 commercial aircrafts and ordered 2.2 times of present aircrafts. Indian airlines has placed order of 1080 aircrafts already, which are going to deliver next years.

An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is a person who is responsible for safety, security and maintenance of an aircraft. To maintain these number of aircrafts Indian aviation industry requires a large number of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, technicians and supporting staffs. According government report we are facing skill shortage in Indian Aviation sector. Indian aviation industry requires 72000 AME and technicians in next few years but the total number of seats for AME institutions in India is approx 4000 mean all institutions never full fill the demand of AEM and technicians in India.

AME is a international course and an AME can do job government and private sector internationally, there is huge demand of Indian AMEs in gulf countries. So there is huge scope in AME to do job out of India. In Gulf countries the average salary of an AME is approx 3 to 5 Lack per month.

So at present Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is the hottest and best career in Aviation sector in India. There is shortage of AME in India and future is also very good because Indian aviation sector is growing very vastly and many international airlines are starting their airlines in India.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is 3 years license program, after 3 years completing this program student gets AME License and from this years onwards student will get BSC degree also. But in aviation sector there is need of only AME License, on the basis of this license a AME can work globally. To get this AME License a candidate to 3 year training program in AME institutions approved by Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Govt of India.

AME CET (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test) is a national level common entrance test to get admission in top most Govt approved AME institutions in India. Student has to appear in AME CET examinations and on the basis of AME CET All Indian Rank student has to attend a counselling and their he can opt best AME institute according his AIR of AME CET. Career in Aviation Engineering After 12th in India

There is a big decision of class 12th math’s students that what they should join after 12th. Basically math’s students want to join engineering course but there is so scope for B. Tech. engineering so, the competition in B.tech for own stability is difficult. There is no such interesting and exciting after gaining B. Tech. or Diploma and the scope is also not so good because at that time huge numbers of B.tech engineers are available in market but there are no jobs for them and lots of B. Tech. institute is going to close.

So, at present time aviation is a good field for engineering after 12th in India. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) has a great scope in Indian as well as foreign airlines. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is a three year training program and is regulated by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of India and Govt. of India. An AME is responsible for the safety, security and maintenance of an aircraft. AME is very responsible and respectable job in Indian aviation sector. India is the third largest aviation market in the world after US and China. And India is going to be aviation hub.

In future also there is a huge demand of AME in India. In general, every aircraft needs a regular maintenance before takeoff of a flight. An Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) can lead the main role to maintain an aircraft and also make sure that all part of an aircraft is in working condition. Only AME is authorized to issue the Flight Releasing Certificate (FRC) before take off an aircraft.

Indian Aviation industry is growing very fastly. At present time India has 400 commercial aircraft and has ordered 1080 aircrafts. These new aircrafts will create lacs of new jobs in aviation sector. India is reviving 50 old airports and planning to create new 50 airports for these new aircrafts. This factor shows Indian Aviaiton required hues number of AMEs in India.

AME is high responsibility and dignity job, AME earns between 80,000 to 1.20 lakhs per year. The fee is depends on the location of institute, popularity etc. of an institute.

1. What is AME?

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is a high profile career with high dignity and responsibility. AME is responsible for safety, security and maintenance of an aircraft. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are specially trained to carryout complex maintenance process including periodical maintenance programs as per the Aircraft manufactures requirements and issue Flight Release Certificate for safety before take off the flight. To carry out this maintenance process and issue Flight Release Certificate an individual has to undergo 3 years of approved training program in approved institution and obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

Safety is very important issue, when it comes to aviation sector. An aircraft is made of numerous parts, engines, electrical and electronic systems etc. With time and use, parts tend to wear and tear down, thus regular inspection and maintenance of aircraft have become very necessary.  Aircraft Maintenance Engineering professionals are trained to inspect an aircraft, diagnose problems, report the problems found and finally solve them.

Before a flight takes off, AME professionals work hard and make sure that each and every system available in the aircraft is in working condition. They ensure that the safety standards are being followed and the aircraft is flight worthy. In short, AME professionals play a very crucial role in the smooth functioning of aviation sector.

To become an AME professional, one must possess a maintenance engineer license issued by the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation). To obtain this license, one must successfully go through the AME training from a DGCA approved institute. AME training course is divided in 6 semesters.

AME training course is divided into two main streams

  • Mechanical Stream
    • Aeroplane & Power Plant
    • Helicopter & Power Plant
  • Avionics Stream
